Lara Dutta Recounts Harassment Incident During ‘Andaaz’ Promotions: ‘Akshay Kumar’s Concern’

Mumbai: Lara Dutta, in a recent interview, shared a disturbing experience of harassment she faced during the music launch event of her debut film, ‘Andaaz’. Alongside Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra, she was attending the event in Delhi.

In a conversation with Hauterfly, Lara Dutta detailed the incident, stating, “I’ve faced a lot of eve-teasing incidents, and I’ve spoken about them. During the music release of my debut film ‘Andaaz’, Priyanka (Chopra), Akshay (Kumar), and I visited Rhythm House at Chandni Chowk in Delhi. I was wearing a sari. As we were trying to enter Rhythm House, a massive crowd had gathered, as Miss World and Miss Universe were appearing together on screen for the first time, along with Akshay Kumar.”

She continued, “Someone pinched me. Realizing something was amiss, probably due to my army background training, I pulled him out, and he fell to the ground. But then, I retaliated fiercely, even in a sari. Akshay became very concerned and pulled me away, saying, ‘What are you doing? You’re an actor now. You can’t engage in this.'”
