Russian Spokesperson Warns of Increased Risks of Military Conflict Due to NATO Drills Near Russian Border

Moscow: Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has expressed concerns over the upcoming NATO exercises near the Russian border, stating that they heighten the risks of military incidents. According to reports from local media on Wednesday, NATO exercises are set to commence on Friday in Finland, close to the Russian-Finnish border, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

Zakharova, quoted by Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency, remarked, “The alliance continues the practical military development of a once neutral state, an authoritative participant in discussions on strengthening stability and security.”
