Jerusalem: Amid escalating tensions and fears of a potential Iranian attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his family reportedly sought refuge at the “missile-proof” residence of US billionaire Simon Falic over the weekend.
In response to growing concerns over a retaliatory strike from Iran, the Netanyahu family relocated to Falic’s fortified home in the Talpiot neighborhood of Jerusalem. This move came amidst Israel’s ongoing conflict with Hamas, which was initiated following the October 7 attack.
While the Netanyahu family had previously been alternating between the Talpiot residence and their private home in Caesarea, recent developments prompted them to spend the night at Falic’s secure compound. According to reports from local news outlet Walla, Netanyahu stayed at the bunker-equipped house as fears of an imminent Iranian attack intensified.

Simon Falic, a prominent businessman and part of the Falic Group, welcomed the Netanyahu family into his residence. The Falic Group, based in Miami, Florida, operates duty-free stores worldwide and is renowned for its offerings of luxury goods.
The Iranian threat materialized late on Saturday when explosive drones and missiles targeted Israeli territory, further exacerbating tensions in the region. In response, US President Joe Biden pledged to convene a meeting with leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) to coordinate a diplomatic response to what he termed Iran’s audacious aggression.
Israel swiftly called for a meeting of the United Nations Security Council to condemn Iran’s attack and designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. Israeli officials hinted at a significant retaliatory response to the assault, which Iran claimed was retribution for alleged Israeli actions, including a strike at its consulate in Damascus.

While Iran warned of harsher repercussions should Israel repeat its perceived provocations, it also signaled that it considered the matter closed. The Iranian mission to the United Nations issued a cautionary message to the US to avoid further involvement in the region’s affairs.
As tensions continue to simmer, the situation underscores the precarious nature of relations between Israel and Iran, with the potential for further escalation hanging in the balance.
