Security Forces Neutralize Terrorist in Encounter in J-K’s Pulwama District

Srinagar:: In a significant development, security forces engaged in a cordon and search operation successfully neutralized a terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday, as reported by the police.

The operation was initiated in Fressipora village, located in the Rajpora area of the south Kashmir district, based on intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the area.

Upon confrontation, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, leading to an escalation of the situation into an encounter. Responding to the threat, the security forces retaliated effectively.

As a result of the encounter, the terrorist was eliminated, confirmed the police.

Efforts are underway to establish the identity and affiliation of the deceased extremist, stated the police.

“Body of one #terrorist retrieved. Identification being ascertained,” announced the Kashmir Zone Police in a post on social media platform X.

The police further disclosed that a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and other incriminating materials were seized from the encounter site.

“Search going on. Further details awaited,” the police elaborated on X.
