Mumbai: While mujras in Bollywood film music have traditionally leaned towards melancholy or seduction, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is set on revolutionizing their portrayal.
In the newly released track from the period drama series, “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar”, Sonakshi Sinha as Fareedan dazzles in “Tilasmi Bahein”, which can be interpreted as “magical arms” or “embrace”.
For the very first time, audiences witness Sonakshi Sinha embracing a darker persona, her intense gaze piercing through the screen, capturing every viewer’s attention.
The energetic dance number, voiced by Sharmistha Chatterjee, showcases Sonakshi adorned in a champagne-colored sequin saree. She exudes confidence and allure, compelling every man around her to dance to her rhythm. Remarkably, the entire music video was filmed in a single take, capturing Sonakshi’s captivating performance in an unprecedented avatar, igniting the dance floor with her presence.
Social media was abuzz with praises for Sonakshi’s performance. One user commented, “So much nuances in one take! SLB the genius,” while another exclaimed, “Omg. Sona just killed it. Love her so much in the song. She is gonna blow our minds in Heeramandi. Just can’t wait for the series now.” The song concludes with Sonakshi delivering a powerful and intense glare towards Aditi Rao Hydari, leaving audiences in awe.
“Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar”, also starring Richa Chadha, Manisha Koirala, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal, is set to premiere on Netflix on May 1.
