Retired Calcutta High Court Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay Joins BJP, Criticizes WB CM Mamata Banerjee in Exclusive ABP Ananda Interview

Kolkata: Retired Justice of the Calcutta High Court, Abhijit Gangopadhyay attended a live interview at ABP Ananda’s studio after joining the BJP in the afternoon. The Retired Justice lambasted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during an exclusive interview with ABP Ananda’s Senior Vice President Mr. Suman De where he referred to Mamata Banerjee as a ‘completely corrupt’ politician in a direct attack. Abhijit Gangopadhyay said: “Primary education has been sold out in the market.”

Mr. Abhijit Gangopadhyay put forward the BJP’s ‘roadmap’ for West Bengal in the exclusive interview. He claimed, “Atrocities against women will stop in Bengal when the BJP comes to power as Bengal will receive good governance. Corruption and the practice of ‘cut money’ will be eliminated from the system and industry will flourish.”

On 3rd March, 2024, ABP Ananda broke the exclusive news of Abhijit Gangopadhyay’s intentions of resigning from his post of a judge at the Calcutta High Court and stepping into politics.

The exclusive interview of Retired Justice Gangopadhyay that followed his resignation from his position of a High Court Judge on March 5th and joining the BJP on March 7th, 2024, has created a nationwide stir.
