Tamannaah Bhatia Embraces Naga Sadhu Avatar for ‘Odela 2’ Debut

Mumbai: Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has been cast to star in director Sampath Nandi’s highly anticipated sequel, ‘Odela 2’, following the success of its predecessor, ‘Odela Railway Station’, released in 2022. The much-awaited first look of Tamannaah as Shiva Shakthi was unveiled on Friday, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri.

Tamannaah’s Instagram and X shares portrayed her captivating transformation into Shiva Shakthi. Accompanying the image, she captioned, “#FirstlookOdela2. I am glad to be revealing the first look on this auspicious day of Maha Shivaratri. Har Har Mahadev! Happy Maha Shivaratri”. She appears completely immersed in the role of a naga sadhu, adorned with thick locks of hair, holding a damarukam in one hand and a staff in the other, with a saffron bindi adorning her forehead. Walking along the ghats of Kashi, she is depicted in a moment of fervent prayer, her eyes closed in deep devotion.

The sequel, ‘Odela 2’, recently announced and commenced filming in Kashi, is produced by D Madhu under the banner of Madhu Creations and Sampath Nandi under Sampath Nandi Teamworks. It promises to delve deeper into the village’s culture, heritage, and traditions, chronicling the tale of Odela Mallanna Swamy, a revered figure who safeguards the village from malevolent forces.

Returning to reprise their roles are Hebah and Vasishta, while Soundar Rajan S serves as the cinematographer, and Ajaneesh Loknath, renowned for his work on ‘Kantara’, will compose the music. Rajeev Nair has been entrusted with the role of art director. Additionally, the film features an ensemble cast including Yuva, Naga Mahesh, Vamshi, Gagan Vihari, Surender Reddy, Bhupal, and Pooja Reddy.
