Samsung Boosts Innovation with New Semiconductor R&D Facility in India

Bengaluru: Samsung Semiconductor India Research, a division of Samsung Electronics, has officially opened its semiconductor R&D facility in Bengaluru, India. The inauguration marks a significant milestone in Samsung’s efforts to drive cutting-edge semiconductor research and development in the country, while meeting the increasing demand for advanced infrastructure.

The newly established campus of Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR) boasts a modern and collaborative design spread across four floors. The layout promotes agility and teamwork, with designated hot-desking areas for employee flexibility. Additionally, the facility includes over sixty state-of-the-art meeting rooms to facilitate seamless communication.

In line with Samsung’s commitment to employee well-being, the campus features various amenities, including a fully equipped cafeteria, medical facilities, dedicated nap rooms, and recreational areas. These facilities aim to provide SSIR employees with a holistic work environment conducive to productivity and rejuvenation.

Balajee Sowrirajan, Executive VP & MD at Samsung Semiconductor India Research, expressed excitement about the new facility, stating, “This new hub reinforces SSIR’s standing as a crucial player in Samsung Semiconductor’s global innovation ecosystem as we open the doors to new opportunities.”

Currently, SSIR employs over 4,500 individuals, and the company plans to expand its workforce by adding over 700 employees, including fresh graduates and lateral hires, across various teams in India.
