Truecaller Introduces AI-Powered Call Recording for Users in India

New Delhi: Truecaller has rolled out a groundbreaking AI-Powered Call Recording feature for its users in India, accessible on both iOS and Android platforms. This innovative feature empowers users to effortlessly record and manage their incoming and outgoing calls directly within the Truecaller app, streamlining communication and productivity.

Leveraging advanced Artificial Intelligence technology, Truecaller’s new feature enables users to engage fully in live conversations without the hassle of taking detailed notes. The integration of AI not only facilitates call recording but also provides users with comprehensive transcriptions and AI-generated call summaries, enhancing the overall communication experience.

Rishit Jhunjhunwala, Managing Director and Chief Product Officer of Truecaller, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “We are constantly innovating cutting-edge solutions that enhance communication… [Our] AI-enabled Call Recording solution… gives our customers greater control and flexibility in managing their conversations, [serving] as a valuable tool for both personal and professional purposes.”

For iPhone users, initiating call recording is seamless:

  1. Answer or make a call as usual.
  2. Open the Truecaller app post-call.
  3. Navigate to the Search tab and select ‘Record a call.’
  4. Connect to Truecaller’s recording line and merge calls to start recording.
  5. Receive a push notification once the recording is ready, with all recordings stored locally on your device for easy access.

Android users can record calls effortlessly:

  1. Open the Truecaller app and navigate to the dialer section.
  2. Tap the dedicated recording button in the dialer interface.
  3. Start recording with a single tap during the call.
  4. Receive a push notification after the call ends, indicating the availability of the recording and transcription.
  5. Manage recordings within the Truecaller app, with options to rename, delete, or share recordings seamlessly.

It’s important to note that the call recording feature is exclusive to Truecaller Premium subscribers, offering additional benefits beyond standard usage. Subscriptions start at Rs 75 per month or Rs 529 per year.

While Truecaller continues to introduce this feature on both iOS and Android platforms, transcription support is currently available for English and Hindi languages, with plans for expansion in the future.
