“We were busy making bats when a vehicle stopped at our gate. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Little Master and his family,” shared Mohammad Shaheen Parray, owner of MJ Sports, recounting Tendulkar’s impromptu visit to a local bat factory. “He stroked a few bats and was quite pleased with the quality. Tendulkar said he had come to compare the Kashmir willow bats with those made of English willow. We requested him to lend his voice in support of the local bats,” added Parray, noting Tendulkar’s promise to advocate for Kashmir willow bats.

In a heartening display of affection, Tendulkar was greeted by fellow passengers on his journey to Kashmir, who expressed their admiration with enthusiastic chants of “Sachin, Sachin!” captured in a recent video.

Sachin Tendulkar’s maiden Kashmir escapade encapsulates not only his love for the sport but also his genuine connection with the people and culture of the region, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to share in his experiences.
