Srinagar Hosts Historic Screening of ‘Ground Zero’, Bollywood’s Tribute to BSF

Produced by Excel Entertainment and helmed by director Tejas Deoskar, Ground Zero will be showcased in a special screening where BSF soldiers and officers are the guests of honour.

Srinagar: In a momentous return of Bollywood to the heart of Kashmir, Ground Zero, starring Emraan Hashmi, is set to mark history with a landmark red carpet premiere in Srinagar—making it the first such screening in the Valley in nearly four decades. The event, held in honour of the Border Security Force (BSF), is more than just a cinematic milestone; it symbolizes a tribute to courage, resilience, and sacrifice.

Produced by Excel Entertainment and helmed by director Tejas Deoskar, Ground Zero will be showcased in a special screening where BSF soldiers and officers are the guests of honour. The high-profile premiere stands as a salute to the unsung heroes who have dedicated their lives to national service.

Taking to social media upon his arrival, Emraan Hashmi shared a heartfelt message alongside director Tejas Deoskar, writing:
“Touchdown… landmark day: first Red carpet movie screening after 38 years in #Srinagar. This is a special movie screening to honour BSF soldiers and their officers”.
The candid post resonated across platforms, striking a chord with audiences and sparking excitement across the nation.

In the film, Emraan Hashmi portrays Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, a character inspired by a real-life hero who led one of the BSF’s most daring and significant operations over the last 50 years. The film unfolds over a gripping two-year investigation that highlights the depth of patriotism, personal sacrifice, and tactical brilliance.

Set against the raw and haunting beauty of Kashmir, Ground Zero is as much a tribute to the land as it is to the protectors of the nation. The story draws from real events, lending authenticity and emotional gravitas to a film that blends action, drama, and true human spirit.

Backed by producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner, the film also boasts a formidable production team including co-producers Kassim Jagmagia, Vishal Ramchandani, Sundeep C Sidhwani, Arhan Bagati, Talisman Films, Abhishek Kumar, and Nishikant Roy.

Ground Zero is set to release in cinemas nationwide on April 25, 2025, promising audiences an intense and moving cinematic experience rooted in real events and deep respect for India’s armed forces.
