Mumbai – A bizarre yet oddly hilarious video featuring a poorly animated avatar of Bollywood icon Kareena Kapoor Khan has taken the internet by storm. The clip, reportedly from a rave party in Karachi, Pakistan, shows a digital recreation of the actress dancing on a screen with pulsating music blaring in the background. While it’s clearly meant to be a tribute, fans were left amused—and confused—by the awkward animation, with many questioning if it was even meant to resemble Kareena at all.
The video was shared by DJ and digital creator Hamza Haris, who describes himself in his Instagram bio as a “Quintessential Karachi Boi”. According to his caption, the idea was born out of inspiration while watching the iconic Bollywood film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. In a post accompanying the video, Haris wrote:
“Been working on this track for a minute, and I finally wrapped it up just in time for the show. I knew if I was gonna play it, it had to have a visual. The track was inspired while I was watching Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and I sampled that iconic moment when Pooh says—well, you know the line. So I thought, why not have Kareena Kapoor dancing? It’s iconic. It’s chaotic. And honestly, no one’s done that at a rave before”.
He continued:
“We pulled it off—and it was a hit. The crowd went wild. Just hoping Karan Johar and Kareena Kapoor Khan see this someday and get how funny, unexpected, and hype it was”.
The video opens with a bold, tongue-in-cheek text insert that reads, “POV: You’re at a rave in Karachi, Pakistan and Kareena Kapoor starts dancing in front of you”. The avatar then appears on screen, dressed in what looks like a stiff, formal outfit, complete with a high ponytail and robotic dance moves—far from the glamorous and fluid style associated with the Bollywood diva.
Social media users were quick to react, and the responses were a mix of laughter, disbelief, and secondhand embarrassment. One commenter wrote, “This animation is sooooo bad, and why is looking like she is going to work” ?Another chimed in with, “Stop working on the track and animation both”. A particularly blunt user posted, “Hell nah this is NOT Kareena Kapoor” .Someone else added, “What? How? Is this for real? No ways. Hahahaha”. Others expressed their amusement through crying-laughing emojis, summing up the general sentiment of the internet.
Despite the mockery, some viewers appreciated the creativity and chaotic energy of the concept, noting that raves are meant to be unpredictable and over-the-top. Whether it’s a cringe moment or comic genius, one thing’s for sure—this digital Kareena has captured attention.
