Digha, West Bengal, India: The coastal towns of Digha and Ramnagar were ablaze with excitement as they warmly welcomed the multifaceted personality, actor, philanthropist, and social activist Payel Sarkar on the eve of Valentine’s Day and Saraswati Puja. This year, the auspicious Saraswati Puja coincided with Valentine’s Day on February 14th, adding an extra layer of festivity to the air.
On Monday evening, February 13th, 2024, Janaki Parivar’s Melbandhan Theatre organized a special event to mark the inauguration of the Saraswati Puja festivities. Notably, the event was graced by the esteemed presence of renowned television actor Payel Sarkar as the Special Guest. Joining her on stage were the primary organizer of the event, the Honorable Minister and MLA of Ramnagar, Akhil Giri, along with other dignitaries including the Chairman of the Contai Municipality, Suprakash Giri, and Trinamool Congress Spokesperson Kohinur Majumdar.
The event commenced with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and the lighting of the lamp, led by Hon’ble Minister Akhil Giri, Actress Payel Sarkar, and Trinamool Congress Spokesperson Kohinur Majumder. The presence of Payel Sarkar, who also holds the position of General Secretary for Human Rights in the state, ignited the audience with enthusiasm, leading to thunderous applause.
In addition to her gracious presence, Payel Sarkar extended an invitation to the people of Ramnagar for the upcoming ‘Starlight Samman Season 1’. Scheduled for March, this award show promises to be a noteworthy event, showcasing and honoring talents from respected categories. Organized by Payel Sarkar and her production company, Payel Sarkar Pvt Ltd, ‘Starlight Samman Season 1’ is anticipated to be a highlight of the cultural calendar.
