Fawad Khan’s Comeback: Abir Gulaal Faces Controversy Over Alleged ISI Links!

Mumbai: Fawad Khan is poised to make his highly anticipated Bollywood comeback with the film Abir Gulaal, which also features Vaani Kapoor in the lead role. The film’s announcement has generated excitement among Fawad’s Indian fans, especially given the political climate surrounding Pakistani artists in India. Following the Uri attack in 2016, many political parties imposed a ban on Pakistani artists working in India. However, in 2023, the Supreme Court dismissed a plea seeking to continue that ban.

Despite the legal landscape shifting, Abir Gulaal has become a focal point of controversy. Kamaal R. Khan (KRK) recently claimed on X that some Pakistani investors are involved in the production of the film. He tweeted, “I believe that @CBIHeadquarters @dir_ed @IncomeTaxIndia and @MumbaiPolice should investigate about the producer of this film #AbirGulal if he is having any connection with #ISI? Because some Pakistani people have invested to make this film of Pakistan actor #FawadKhan! It’s releasing on 9th May! (sic)”

On Tuesday, the filmmakers released a short promo for Abir Gulaal alongside its official release date of May 9, 2025. Vaani Kapoor expressed her excitement on social media, stating, “The wait is over! Bringing love back to the big screen with Abir Gulaal and Fawad Khan. A Richer Lens film @aricherlens_. See you in the cinemas on 9th May”!

Who is the Producer of Abir Gulaal?

Abir Gulaal is directed by Aarti S. Bagdi and produced by Vivek Agrawal under his banner A Richer Lens Entertainment. Agrawal has an impressive track record, having co-produced notable films such as Queen, Bombay Velvet, Udta Punjab, and Super 30 during his tenure with Phantom Films and Reliance Entertainment.

In 2011, Agrawal produced Land Gold Women, directed by his wife Avantika Hari, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in English.

As the buzz surrounding the film continues, many are left wondering how Agrawal will respond to KRK’s claims. Meanwhile, Fawad Khan’s fans eagerly await his return to the big screen in Abir Gulaal.
