New Delhi – Film director Sanoj Mishra, who recently made headlines for offering a film role to Maha Kumbh 2025 viral girl Monalisa, has been arrested on rape charges. The arrest follows a complaint filed by a woman who accused him of repeatedly sexually assaulting her under the false pretense of giving her a role in a film. His bail application was rejected by a Delhi court, leading to his apprehension by Nabi Karim police from Ghaziabad.
Victim’s Allegations Against Sanoj Mishra
According to the victim’s statement to Delhi Police, the accused contacted her via TikTok and Instagram, initiating conversations that eventually led to an invitation to meet in Jhansi. Upon her initial refusal, Mishra allegedly threatened to commit suicide if she did not comply.
The complaint further details that once the victim agreed to meet, Mishra took her to a resort, drugged her drink with sedatives, and sexually assaulted her. He reportedly recorded explicit videos of her in compromising situations and used them as blackmail material to exert further control.
Later, Mishra persuaded the victim to relocate to Mumbai, promising her a role in his film. However, once in Mumbai, he allegedly assaulted her multiple times and forced her to undergo three abortions under threats of making the explicit footage public. The woman endured prolonged physical and emotional abuse before approaching the authorities for justice.
Sanoj Mishra’s Connection to Monalisa
Sanoj Mishra’s name recently surfaced in the media when he offered a film role to Monalisa, a young woman who gained widespread attention at Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. Mishra had publicly announced that he would be casting Monalisa in his upcoming film, ‘The Diary of 2025’, and providing her with training before production commenced. However, his recent arrest raises serious concerns about his professional credibility and past actions.
