Kolkata Police Raids Counterfeit Unit Supplying Duplicate Goodknight Products

Considering the presence of counterfeit Goodknight products in the market, GCPL urges consumers to remain vigilant and purchase products only from authorized outlets with a genuine sales invoice.

Kolkata: Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), the company behind trusted brands like Goodknight, a market leader in the household insecticide category, and the Kolkata Police have recently acted against a refiller who was involved in supply of spurious Goodknight Flash products to various general stores in Kolkata. Acting on information from an investigation agency, the police conducted a raid at the supplier’s manufacturing facility in Ranaghat, near Kolkata.

The raid resulted in the confiscation of a sizeable quantity of counterfeit materials, including 2,030 Goodknight Flash liquid vaporizer refill packs (90 ml). An FIR (First Information Report) has been lodged against the accused under section 318(4) of Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita addressing counterfeiting and copyright infringement.

The police are continuing their investigation to uncover the distribution network responsible for these counterfeit products, aiming to eliminate the supply chain within Kolkata and the state of West Bengal. This decisive action is expected to deter the sale of counterfeit products and ensure that consumers have access to genuine and safe Goodknight products.
