Jerusalem: Israeli forces killed three Palestinians in the al-Faraa refugee camp near Tubas in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, the Palestinian state news agency WAFA reported.
According to security officials cited by WAFA, the three individuals were killed when Israeli troops fired bullets and shells at their residence.
In a statement, the Israeli military described the deceased as “wanted terrorists who sold weapons for terror purposes.” The army also reported the detention of two other individuals during the operation.
The latest incident comes amid Israel’s ongoing military offensive in the West Bank, which has resulted in widespread destruction of homes and critical infrastructure in several refugee camps. Tens of thousands of Palestinians have been displaced since Israel launched its large-scale counterterrorism operation in the northern West Bank city of Jenin on January 21.
Israel considers the West Bank a key front in its broader conflict against Iranian-backed militant groups. The offensive was initiated shortly after Israel reached a ceasefire in its war in Gaza against Hamas.
