Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed Beijing’s commitment to building a community with a shared future alongside Hanoi, a collaboration of strategic significance, according to China’s official Xinhua news agency.
This statement was made in a congratulatory message sent by Xi to Vietnam’s ruling Communist Party chief, To Lam, and President Luong Cuong, marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
The concept of a “community with a shared future” is central to China’s foreign policy, particularly with nations it aims to develop long-term partnerships based on shared goals, interests, and sometimes even ideology. Xi’s reference to the relationship as one of “strategic significance” underscores the importance China places on its ties with Vietnam.
