Fire in South Korea’s Seongnam: Crews Save 30, 12 Hospitalized

Seoul: A massive fire engulfed an eight-story commercial building in Seongnam, South Korea, on Friday, leaving 12 people hospitalized due to smoke inhalation. Approximately 30 individuals trapped inside were safely rescued, according to local fire authorities.

The blaze began in a ground-floor restaurant and quickly spread through the building, which houses various facilities, including a swimming pool used for children’s lessons. Thick black smoke billowed from the structure, as seen in footage broadcast by YTN television.

Firefighters deployed 82 vehicles and equipment to combat the fire and bring it under control. Emergency services worked swiftly to ensure the safety of those inside and to prevent further casualties.
