Imphal: In an ongoing effort to maintain stability in Manipur, security forces have ramped up their vigilance across the state’s vulnerable hill and valley districts. Comprehensive search operations and area domination exercises led to the recovery of ammunition and explosive materials, ensuring a safer environment for residents.

Recovery of Ammunition and Explosives

Security forces carried out extensive searches in several regions, including Phayeng Porom Hill, K. Songlung, and Chiru, located within the Imphal West and Kangpokpi districts. Key recoveries include:

  • Phayeng Porom Hill: 11 live SLR rounds, one SLR magazine, 66 empty SLR cartridges, and parts of a radio set (battery and antenna).
  • K. Songlung: One misfired AK round, 102 empty AK cartridges, two empty SLR cartridges, one 12-bore cartridge, and a locally crafted bomb.

These operations underscore the proactive measures being taken to neutralize potential threats in sensitive areas.

Ensuring Safe Transit
