IIM Raipur’s “YUKTI 2024” Explores Business Landscape Across Analytics, Operations, and Policy

Kolkata: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, one of the leading B-schools in India, graciously hosted the prestigious business conclave “Yukti 2024” from 23rd to 24th November 2024. This conclave served as a melting pot of ideas, bringing together visionaries, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders from various industries presenting a holistic view of the business landscape spanning analytics, operations, and policy.

This momentous event was graced by Chief Guest Ms. Kanika Garg, Entrepreneur, Ex- CDO, Jio BlackRock, Ex- CPO, TATA Group Entity, along with Prof. Ramkumar M., Associate Professor and Chairperson, Students’ Affairs Committee (SAC), IIM Raipur.

This earnest conclave conducted on the theme “Vikas Chatra” translating to “Building with Purpose” highlighted the importance of aligning business strategies that support national development and have a beneficial impact on the environment and society which encourages students to cultivate a sense of responsibility and ethical stewardship.

The inaugural session began with Prof. Ramkumar M., Associate Professor and Chairperson, Students’ Affairs Committee (SAC), IIM Raipur, addressing the gathering and declaring the Business Conclave open. He began by explaining how Yukti meant strategy and highlighted the importance of perseverance and building with a focus on innovation.

Prof. Saroj Kumar Pani, Professor of Strategy & Entrepreneurship, IIM Raipur, gave his address next. He discussed how the theme of the conclave aligns finely with IIM Raipur’s theme of ‘Building Business Owners.’ He encouraged the students to utilize all the opportunities for cognitive, spiritual, and family growth, along with one’s career growth, to lead a fulfilling life. He emphasized the importance of leaving a legacy that benefits societal development.

Inspiring the room with motivational words and transformation insights, Ms. Kanika Garg, Entrepreneur, Ex- CDO, Jio BlackRock, Ex- CPO, TATA Group Entity shared “Success is not just about achieving your personal milestones but is also about your contribution to society. Even if you inspire a soul, it’ll make a big difference.”

The 2-day event showcased 3 engaging panel discussions featuring distinguished speakers from diverse fields each centered on insightful themes. Panel 1 titled “Nutana Netravra” (Driving Innovation), explored transformative solutions to pressing challenges. This is highlighted by Shri Rachit Bansal, Regional CEO, Xanadu as he shared “A problem gives you an opportunity and every opportunity gives a space to come up with a solution.”

Panel 2, “Sustira Neeti” (Crafting Tomorrow) highlighted the adoption of environmentally responsible strategies. Ms. Kanika Garg expressed the rising importance of sustainability initiatives as she mentioned “People are ready to pay for the brands that focus on ESG; the audience is changing, the market is changing.”

Lastly, Panel 3, “Visva Kausalya” (Start Up to Scale Up) focused on equipping future business owners with the essential knowledge and techniques needed to transition from their first launch to achieving long-term success. Inder N Dua, Partner, Infosys Global Consulting shared his thoughts as he said “When it works, it grows at a tremendous rate. The moment it grows, the expectation shoots up. When you start delivering, the variability that comes along becomes a red flag. Standardization is the key.”

The highlight of this conclave was the constructive competition “Boardroom Stimulation”, designed as an extension of dynamic and immersive learning. This activity aimed to enhance corporate decision-making, strategic thinking, and leadership skills within a realistic boardroom setting. Participants tackled a variety of complex scenarios, stepped into the roles of CXOs and key stakeholders, and collaborated in teams to devise impactful solutions. The top teams from the first round advanced to the finals, where they showcased their decision-making and presentation skills, competing for a prize pool of Rs. 24000.

IIM Raipur’s Business Conclave 2024 was hosted by its 9 dynamic and innovative academic clubs – Anasys (The Analytics Club), Arthniti (The Economics and Public Policy Club), Consulere (The Consulting Club), Finatix (The Finance Club), Mantra (The Marketing Club), HRidhaan (The Human Resource Club), ProdX (The Product Management Club) and Optus (The Operations Club), along with the Student Affairs Committee showcasing the institute’s holistic and collaborative environment.
