Beirut: Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon killed at least two medics and injured several others early Saturday, according to the Lebanese health ministry. The strikes mark an escalation in hostilities, as Beirut’s southern suburbs endured a fifth consecutive day of bombardment.
Fatal Strikes on Emergency Teams
The airstrikes targeted multiple locations, including the town of Borj Rahal in the Tyre District. A medic was killed in the attack, the ministry confirmed.
In a separate strike on an emergency response team in Kfartebnit, another medic lost their life, and four others sustained injuries. The ministry also reported that two medics remain missing.
Beirut Suburbs Targeted for Fifth Day
Israel launched at least nine airstrikes on Hezbollah-controlled southern suburbs of Beirut. While Lebanese authorities have not yet provided details on casualties from these strikes, the sustained bombing has heightened tensions in the region.

Israel’s military stated that the airstrikes targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut’s suburbs, aligning with its ongoing campaign against the group.
