Princess Kate to Attend Remembrance Day in London Amid Cancer Recovery

Princess Kate, Prince William, and King Charles will honor fallen servicemembers at this weekend's Remembrance Day events.

London: Britain’s Princess Kate, currently on the path to recovery after undergoing preventative treatment for cancer earlier this year, will attend two significant events in London this weekend to commemorate Remembrance Day, Buckingham Palace announced on Friday.

The 42-year-old Princess of Wales shared in September that she had completed her preventative chemotherapy, though she acknowledged that her journey to full recovery would take time, with her primary focus remaining on maintaining her health. At that time, she mentioned that her public engagements would be limited for the year. Her most recent appearance was last month, where she met with bereaved families in Southport, northwest England, following the tragic deaths of three young girls in a dance class incident.

This weekend, Princess Kate will be joined by her husband, Prince William, and King Charles at Remembrance Day events, honoring those who lost their lives in service. The primary ceremony, held at the Cenotaph war memorial in central London, takes place on the Sunday closest to November 11 and marks the end of World War I.

While Queen Camilla’s participation is dependent on medical advice due to a recent chest infection, Buckingham Palace has stated she may attend if her health allows. King Charles, also undergoing cancer treatment after a February diagnosis, continues to remain active, having recently visited Australia and Samoa.

Prince William remarked in an interview on Thursday that the year had been “the hardest” of his life, following the cancer diagnoses of both his wife and father.
