Ahmedabad: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has unveiled a groundbreaking two-year Online MBA program, catering to working professionals and entrepreneurs, according to a recent announcement.
This blended (hybrid) program integrates on-campus, in-person sessions with live interactive online sessions, providing a degree-granting post-graduate experience. Designed for seasoned participants with a minimum of three years of experience, the program will primarily use an online synchronous mode, complemented by five distinct on-campus modules.
In line with IIMA’s pedagogy, the program adopts a case-based approach, emphasizing applied learning to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in today’s dynamic business landscape.
Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIMA, expressed excitement about the program’s launch, stating, “We are excited to launch the Online MBA program, which expands IIMA’s reach and provides world-class education to working professionals and entrepreneurs around the world. This innovative program combines the flexibility of online learning with the richness of on-campus interaction, ensuring participants gain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their chosen careers.”
Professor Joshy Jacob, Chairperson (Online MBA), provided insights into the program’s format, highlighting its aim to upskill professionals by exposing them to decision-making frameworks grounded in various disciplines. He explained, “The program curriculum is designed to equip participants with the functional and organizational skills necessary to thrive in a challenging world.”
The admission criteria for the program include a minimum of three years of full-time work experience, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and successful completion of an admission test (IIMA Admission Test (IAT)/ CAT/ GMAT/GRE) along with a personal interview.
