Tel Aviv: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that Israel’s recent airstrike on Iran was “precise and powerful”, achieving all its strategic objectives. Netanyahu made these remarks during a speech at an official memorial ceremony marking the anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attack last year, according to the Hebrew calendar.
“Two days ago, we struck the head of the octopus, the Iranian regime,” Netanyahu stated. “We promised we would respond to the Iranian attack, and on Saturday, we struck. The attack in Iran was precise and powerful, achieving all of its objectives. The regime must understand one simple thing: whoever harms us, we will harm them.”
The strikes were Israel’s retaliation for an attack on October 1, during which Iran launched around 200 missiles at Israel, most of which were intercepted by Israel’s defense systems. Netanyahu referenced this in his address, saying, “Iran attacked Israel with hundreds of ballistic missiles, and this attack failed.”

Netanyahu elaborated, “We kept our promise. The air force attacked throughout Iran. We hit hard Iran’s defense capabilities and its ability to produce missiles that are aimed at us.”
