Ukraine Braces for North Korean Soldiers as Conflict Intensifies

Ukrainian intelligence reports indicate that North Korea has dispatched nearly 12,000 personnel to Russia, which includes 500 officers and three generals.

Kyiv: Russia is reportedly set to send its first North Korean soldiers into combat in Ukraine starting October 27, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

In a statement following a meeting with senior military officials, Zelenskyy described this development as a “blatant step toward escalation” that contradicts the Kremlin’s previous claims regarding its military strategy.

Zelenskyy urged Western leaders to increase pressure on both Pyongyang and Moscow, emphasizing the need for these nations to adhere to the United Nations Charter.

Ukrainian intelligence reports indicate that North Korea has dispatched nearly 12,000 personnel to Russia, which includes 500 officers and three generals. The first sightings of North Korean soldiers on the battlefield were reported in the Kursk region, an area that faced significant assaults in August from thousands of Ukrainian troops.
