Moscow and Western Russia Targeted by Ukrainian Drone Attacks, No Casualties

The governors of Bryansk and Oryol, both located in western Russia, reported that air defense units had successfully neutralized several drones in their regions.

Moscow: Ukraine launched a series of drone attacks targeting Moscow and western Russia, according to statements from regional officials early Sunday. The officials confirmed that there were no injuries or significant damage.

Russia’s air defense units intercepted at least one drone approaching Moscow, the capital’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, shared on the Telegram messaging platform. “According to preliminary information, there was no damage or casualties where debris fell in the Ramensky district of the Moscow region,” he stated.

In the Lipetsk region, located in southwestern Russia, drone debris triggered several short-lived fires. The region’s governor also confirmed via Telegram that no injuries were reported.

Governors of Bryansk and Oryol, both situated in western Russia, reported that air defense units successfully destroyed multiple drones in their respective regions.

Reuters has not been able to independently verify these reports, and there has been no immediate comment from Ukrainian officials.

Ukraine has previously stated that its air strikes are aimed at infrastructure critical to Russia’s military operations and are carried out in retaliation for Moscow’s ongoing air attacks on Ukrainian territory.
