Biden Speaks with Governors After Hurricane Helene, Plans to Visit Affected Areas

Washington: U.S. President Joe Biden announced on Monday that he has spoken with the governors of Georgia and North Carolina following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene. The hurricane has claimed more than 100 lives, disrupted communication, and left millions without electricity.

Biden revealed that he spoke with North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper and plans to visit the state later this week. “I expect to be there by Wednesday or Thursday,” he stated. The President also mentioned the possibility of requesting Congress to reconvene for a special session to approve a supplemental funding package to assist the hurricane victims.
