Damascus: The United States carried out precision airstrikes in Syria on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of 37 terrorist operatives, including senior leaders from ISIS and the Al Qaeda affiliate, Hurras al-Din.
According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the two targeted strikes were executed to disrupt terrorist activities in the region. “CENTCOM Forces conducted two targeted strikes in Syria, killing 37 terrorist operatives, including multiple senior leaders of the terrorist organisations of ISIS and Hurras al-Din, an Al Qaeda affiliate,” the statement noted.
These airstrikes are part of ongoing efforts to counter terrorism in the area. CENTCOM emphasized its mission to prevent attacks against both civilians and military personnel. “The airstrikes are part of CENTCOM’s ongoing commitment, along with partners in the region, to disrupt and degrade efforts by terrorists to plan, organize, and conduct attacks against civilians and military personnel from the US, our allies, and our partners throughout the region and beyond,” the statement added.
This latest operation follows a previous strike on September 24, which resulted in the deaths of nine terrorists, including Marwan Bassam ‘Abd-al-Ra’uf, a senior leader of Hurras al-Din. CENTCOM highlighted the importance of the strike against ‘Abd-al-Ra’uf, who was responsible for overseeing military operations.
Earlier, on September 16, CENTCOM forces executed a large-scale airstrike on an ISIS training camp in central Syria, killing 28 ISIS operatives, including four senior leaders.

General Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of US Central Command, reaffirmed CENTCOM’s dedication to combating terrorist organizations. “These strikes against leadership and operatives of ISIS and the Al Qaeda affiliate, Hurras al-Din, represent CENTCOM’s commitment to the enduring defeat of terrorist organisations in the CENTCOM area of responsibility and our support to regional stability,” he stated.

CENTCOM confirmed that the recent airstrikes were executed with precision, resulting in no civilian casualties.
