Iran Condemns Deadly Hezbollah Device Explosions in Lebanon, Offers Aid

The attacks followed a similar incident the previous day, where pagers belonging to the group exploded, causing 12 fatalities.

Tehran/Beirut: Iran has condemned the recent explosive attacks in Lebanon, which involved detonating communication devices, according to Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Mohajerani condemned the attacks and offered assistance to the wounded.

The explosions, which occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday, involved hand-held radios used by Hezbollah. These devices detonated across Lebanon, resulting in at least three deaths and over 100 injuries. The attacks followed a similar incident the previous day, where pagers belonging to the group exploded, causing 12 fatalities. The recent violence has escalated tensions with Israel.

“Iran strongly condemns yesterday’s criminal explosion of communication devices and today’s criminal detonation of walkie-talkies, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of Lebanese civilians,” Mohajerani stated. She attributed the attacks to the “terrorism of the Zionist regime,” describing them as acts that “cause aversion and disgust.”

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also commented on the situation, asserting, “The incident in Lebanon once again demonstrates that Western countries and the United States, despite their claims of seeking a ceasefire, in practice fully support the crimes, massacres, and blind terrorism of the Zionist regime.”
