Israel Launches Strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon, Citing Self-Defence

The IDF reported Hezbollah was preparing to launch missiles into Israeli territory.

Tel Aviv/Beirut: On Sunday, the Israeli military launched preemptive strikes in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah positions to counter what it described as an imminent threat from the Iran-backed militant group. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said they had identified Hezbollah preparing to launch missiles and rockets into Israeli territory.

Labeling the operation as a “self-defence act,” IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated, “In a self-defence act to remove these threats, the IDF is striking terror targets in Lebanon, from which Hezbollah was planning to launch their attacks on Israeli civilians.”

Residents in southern Lebanon, a known Hezbollah stronghold, were warned about the impending strikes and urged to evacuate the area immediately to ensure their safety.
