Warsaw: Poland is aiming to host the Olympic Games in either 2040 or 2044, according to Prime Minister Donald Tusk. In a statement made on Friday, Tusk acknowledged that while the feasibility of this goal is still uncertain, he is optimistic about the prospects and is committed to making it a reality.
“Taking into account the preliminary decisions and declaration of the International Olympic Committee, we can talk about 2040 or 2044,” Tusk told reporters during a press conference focused on modernizing soccer stadiums.
Poland, which co-hosted the Euro football tournament with Ukraine in 2012 and last summer’s multi-sport European Games, has yet to host the Olympics. The previous Polish administration had expressed interest in bidding for the 2036 Summer Olympics.
