India Urges Caution for Travelers to the UK Amid Surge in Violence

New Delhi/London: India has issued a travel advisory for those visiting the United Kingdom, urging caution and adherence to security advice following recent violent protests across Britain.

The advisory comes in the wake of the fatal stabbing of three young girls in Southport, a town in northwest England, last week. This tragic event has been exploited by anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim groups, who have spread disinformation online. The situation has been exacerbated by prominent far-right figures, leading to unrest in various towns and cities.

In response, the Indian High Commission in London stated they are closely monitoring the situation. Visitors from India are advised to stay vigilant and exercise due caution while traveling in the UK, in a post on X.
