Caroline Marks claimed gold in the women’s shortboard surfing competition, narrowly defeating Brazil’s Tatiana Weston-Webb. Simone Biles added a silver to her extensive medal collection in the floor exercise final.

The competition at the Paris Games is heating up as the United States and China are neck and neck in the race for gold medals. Both countries have secured 21 golds each, leading the pack. The U.S. continues to dominate the overall medal count, now at 79, after adding two golds, four silvers, and two bronzes on Day 10.

  • Caroline Marks claimed gold in the women’s shortboard surfing competition, narrowly defeating Brazil’s Tatiana Weston-Webb. Despite the calm conditions at Teahupo’o, Marks’ impressive 7.50-point barrel ride secured her victory. Webb’s last-minute wave attempt resulted in a close final score of 10.50 to 10.33 in Marks’ favor.

  • Noah Lyles advanced in the 200 meters, eyeing a double gold in the 100 and 200 meters after cruising through his first-round heat. Gabby Thomas led a trio of Americans into the women’s 200-meter final.
