Biden and Trump Speak by Phone Following Assassination Attempt

The shooting at Trump’s rally is officially being investigated as an assassination attempt. An AR-style rifle was recovered at the scene.

In a rare show of bipartisanship, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump spoke by phone after the recent assassination attempt on Trump. Sources indicate that Biden wished Trump a speedy recovery, to which Trump responded with gratitude.

Following the incident, President Biden will be returning from his vacation home to the White House. The shooting at Trump’s rally is now officially being investigated as an assassination attempt. Law enforcement recovered an AR-style rifle at the scene, and the Justice Department’s national security division is expected to open an investigation into the attack.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas assured the public that “every possible measure” is being taken to ensure the safety and security of both Biden and Trump.

‘I pray for President Trump’s rapid recovery. My thoughts are with him, the other victims and the Trump family. I strongly condemn this violence.’–Tim Cook, apple CEO

Trump Leaves Hospital, Plans to Attend UFC Event

Trump has been released from the hospital after a bullet pierced the upper part of his right ear. The Secret Service confirmed they killed the shooter at the rally, where one victim died and two others remain in critical condition. Despite the incident, Trump reportedly plans to attend a UFC event tonight. The prediction market Polymarket now gives Trump a 70% chance of winning the upcoming election.

Political Reactions and Eyewitness Accounts

Republican Senator J.D. Vance blamed the Biden campaign’s rhetoric for leading “directly to President Trump’s attempted assassination.” Meanwhile, Democratic former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whose husband was attacked by an intruder two years ago, expressed her concern over the rise in political violence.

Eyewitness Blake Marnell, a 59-year-old Trump supporter from San Diego known for wearing a “brick suit” in homage to Trump’s border wall, recounted the event:

“I’m in the front row center with some friends, watching the president speak about immigration. He had a slide on the Jumbotron. Suddenly, I heard some noises to my left. At first, I hoped it was a prank or a bad joke. Then, I saw the Secret Service tackling the president to the ground, and I realized they were gunshots. I crouched down, then got back up when the noise stopped and watched the Secret Service’s actions behind the podium.”

Investigation and Security Measures

As the investigation unfolds, the nation remains on high alert. The Justice Department and DHS are coordinating efforts to ensure that both Biden and Trump are protected in light of the recent violence. The political landscape is tense as both parties react to the events and prepare for the upcoming election.
