Russia Freezes UFC Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Bank Accounts Over $1 Million Tax Debt

Nurmagomedov, renowned for retiring undefeated from MMA, has transitioned into various business ventures following his retirement.

Russia’s Federal Tax Service has taken action to freeze the bank accounts of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, citing a tax debt that has surpassed 79 million rubles ($1 million) as of July 1. Initial reports had indicated a larger debt of 297 million rubles ($3.4 million).

Nurmagomedov, renowned for retiring undefeated from MMA, has transitioned into various business ventures following his retirement.

The tax authorities launched an investigation into alleged irregularities within his business operations, leading to the freeze on his accounts.

In a separate development, security forces in Dagestan recently conducted a raid on Nurmagomedov’s training facility as part of a terrorism investigation. The fighter has vehemently denied any direct involvement with the individuals implicated in the probe.

Who is Khabib Nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov is a retired Russian mixed martial artist who gained worldwide recognition as a dominant force in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born on September 20, 1988, in Dagestan, Russia, Khabib began his professional MMA career in 2008 and quickly rose through the ranks due to his exceptional grappling and wrestling skills.

He became the UFC Lightweight Champion in April 2018 and held an undefeated record throughout his career, retiring with a perfect 29-0 record in MMA. Khabib’s fighting style was characterized by his mastery of sambo and grappling techniques, making him a formidable opponent in the octagon.
