Earlier this year, WhatsApp initiated limited testing of Meta AI across different countries. This phase aimed to explore user interaction with AI through integration into the search bar and an alternate entry point in the top app bar for Indian users. The primary objective was to enhance user engagement with Meta AI while ensuring privacy. With increasing user adoption, WhatsApp has begun rolling out the AI tool to additional countries. In its latest beta update, WhatsApp is enhancing Meta AI by introducing user-selectable AI models. According to a screenshot shared by the publication, users will have the option to choose between different Meta Llama models for their AI interactions. The default model, Llama 3-70B, is optimized for swift and straightforward prompts. Additionally, WhatsApp is offering a preview of the advanced Llama 3-405B model, capable of handling more complex queries.

The report notes that this new feature enables users to tailor their AI interactions based on specific needs. The default Llama 3-70B model ensures quick and efficient responses suitable for daily use. Once this limit is reached, users will seamlessly transition back to the default model to continue their interactions.
