Elon Musk Extends Congratulations to PM Modi, Expresses Enthusiasm for Collaborative Ventures in India

Modi is poised to commence his third consecutive term with the oath-taking ceremony scheduled for Sunday.

New York: Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla, the renowned electric car manufacturer, extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday for his re-election victory in the Lok Sabha elections. Musk expressed eagerness for his companies to engage in “exciting work” within India.

“Congratulations Narendra Modi on your victory in the world’s largest democratic elections! Looking forward to my companies doing exciting work in India,” Musk conveyed via X.

Following President Draupadi Murmu’s designation of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister-designate, Modi is poised to commence his third consecutive term with the oath-taking ceremony scheduled for Sunday. Under his leadership, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured 293 seats out of the 543 in the Lok Sabha.

Musk had previously announced plans for a visit to India just before the elections. However, this visit was deferred due to “very heavy Tesla obligations”.

In June of the previous year, Musk and PM Modi engaged in discussions in the United States. Following their meeting, Musk expressed admiration for Modi and indicated Tesla’s intention to invest in India.

Acknowledging PM Modi’s encouragement for substantial investments in India, Musk anticipated making such investments in the near future.

“He [Modi] really cares about India because he’s pushing us to make significant investments in India, which is something we intend to do … I am confident that Tesla will be in India and will do so as soon as humanly possible,” Musk asserted during a post-meeting interaction with reporters in 2023.
