Kashmir: Encounter Erupts Between Security Forces and Terrorists in Baramulla

Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir – An intense encounter between terrorists and security forces erupted in the Nihama area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday, according to police reports.

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Nihama, located in the southern part of Kashmir, following specific intelligence about the presence of militants. The Kashmir Zone Police confirmed the operation via a post on X, stating, “Encounter has started at Nihama area of Pulwama.

The situation escalated when militants opened fire on the search party, prompting security forces to retaliate. As of now, the exchange of gunfire is ongoing, with no casualties reported on either side.

This incident follows a similar encounter last month in Pulwama, where a terrorist was killed in a clash with security forces. The deceased was identified as Danish Aijaz Sheikh, 34, a resident of Alnoor Colony, Ellahibagh, under Ahmadnagar police station in Srinagar.
