Lok Sabha Elections 2024: PM Modi Files Nomination from Varanasi, Seeking Third Term

Before filing his papers, PM Modi paid homage to the sacred river Ganga, performed rituals, and participated in Aarti at Dashaswamedh Ghat, marking the auspicious occasion of Ganga Saptami.

Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on his bid for a third consecutive victory from Varanasi with great fervor as he officially filed his nomination on Tuesday. Accompanied by prominent leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP President JP Nadda, PM Modi sought the blessings of ‘Maa Ganga’ for his electoral journey.

A diverse array of NDA leaders, including SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar and several BJP and NDA state chief ministers, joined the Prime Minister at the nomination ceremony held in the collectorate. Notable figures such as LJP chief Chirag Paswan and Chandrababu Naidu were also present to express their support.

The nomination process saw PM Modi accompanied by four proposers, among whom were prominent personalities like Acharya Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid and Baijnath Patel. Ahead of filing his nomination, PM Modi expressed his profound connection with Varanasi, describing it as “amazing, inseparable, and incomparable.” In a heartfelt message, he conveyed his gratitude for the overwhelming support received during his campaign in the city.

Reflecting on his tenure, PM Modi reminisced about his transformative journey since his arrival in Varanasi in 2014, attributing his success to the embrace of ‘Maa Ganga.’ He reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Varanasi and Uttar Pradesh, pledging to continue serving the people with dedication.
