New York: Apple is gearing up to roll out iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3 to the general public, with notifications expected to reach iPhone users between January 21 and 27, 2024. The upcoming updates promise enticing features such as Stolen Device Protection, collaborative Apple Music playlists, and bug fixes for iPhones used by beta testers and developers.
iOS 17.3 will cater to iPhone Xs or later, while iPadOS 17.3 will be available for a range of devices, including iPad (6th generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation and later), 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and 11-inch iPad Pro (1st generation and later).
Key Features of iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3:
- Stolen Device Protection: Introducing an additional layer of security, this feature safeguards iPhones in case of theft, even if the perpetrator gains access to the device’s passcode.
- Collaborative Playlists in Apple Music: Enabling users to collectively modify, reorder, and delete songs within a shared playlist, this feature fosters a collaborative music experience. Animated emoji reactions can also be left next to songs in the playlist.
- Unity Bloom Wallpapers: Apple introduces a new wallpaper, Unity Bloom, designed to support the Black community.
While Stolen Device Protection’s availability for iPadOS 17.3 remains unconfirmed, the update is set to include the other two features.
