Kyiv: As the sun dipped below the horizon, darkness descended over the Nikopol district in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, only to be shattered by the ominous sounds of artillery fire, marking yet another harrowing episode in the ongoing conflict.
The latest assault, orchestrated by Russian forces, targeted a village within the Chervonohryhorivka community, leaving a trail of disturbance and destruction in its wake.
Serhii Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, took to his Telegram channel to provide a detailed account of the incident, underscoring the relentless nature of the strikes. Despite the intensity of the assault, fortunately, there were no reported casualties. However, the toll on the district’s infrastructure was unmistakable.

Lysak’s report followed a series of attacks earlier in the day, where Nikopol endured 12 separate artillery barrages, resulting in significant damage to residential homes and crucial power lines. These relentless assaults have compounded the hardships faced by the local population, exacerbating an already dire situation.
The repeated targeting of Nikopol underscores the persistent challenges and the precarious security environment prevailing in the region. Nevertheless, the response from emergency services and local authorities remains steadfast, emphasizing a commitment to resilience and an unwavering focus on ensuring the safety and recovery of affected communities.
