Malmo: Despite facing protests and disruptions during its performance, Israel, along with Switzerland and the Netherlands, has clinched a place in the highly anticipated Eurovision 2024 grand final. The event, drawing in approximately 100,000 attendees in Malmo, Sweden, witnessed intense competition and a palpable atmosphere amidst heavy police presence, underscoring the significance of this annual spectacle.
Swiss artist Nemo, renowned for his captivating blend of rap and melody, triumphed in the second semi-final with his powerful track “The Code”, while Dutch sensation Joost Klein secured his spot with the infectious tune “Europapa”. Reflecting on the emotional journey of self-discovery portrayed in his performance, Nemo expressed gratitude for the platform Eurovision provides for queer representation, echoing sentiments shared by Irish contestant Bambie Thug, who also advanced to the final.

Amidst mixed reactions from the audience, Israeli soloist Eden Golan, with her commanding ballad “Hurricane”, clinched a spot in the grand finale, captivating spectators with her impassioned performance. Joining the finalists are Armenia, Austria, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Latvia, and Norway, each bringing their unique flair and talent to the Eurovision stage.
