New York\Seoul: OpenAI is establishing its first office in Seoul and has formally created a legal entity in South Korea, marking a significant step in the company’s global expansion. The decision comes amid a sharp increase in demand for its popular AI chatbot service, ChatGPT, in the country.
According to OpenAI, South Korea now ranks second only to the United States in terms of the number of paying ChatGPT subscribers, underlining the nation’s growing enthusiasm for AI-driven tools.
To strengthen its presence and foster local collaborations, OpenAI has commenced recruitment efforts in South Korea. The company noted that more announcements regarding partnerships and developments are expected in the coming months.
