Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has made headlines once again—this time for a major real estate move. The celebrated star has purchased a lavish new property at The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl, Doha, Qatar, just three months after surviving a knife attack in Mumbai.
Speaking at a press event hosted by Alfardan Group, Saif opened up about what made this island destination his latest choice for a second home. Describing the property as serene, safe, and accessible, Saif called it the ideal location for a holiday retreat with his family.
Saif Ali Khan on Why He Chose Doha
Saif, who had previously stayed at the property during a shoot, said the comfort and luxury left a lasting impression on him.
“Think of a holiday home or a second home. There are a few things I think of. One is that it’s not very far away and it’s easily accessible. And then the other thing is, the most important thing is that it’s very safe and it feels very good to be there. And the concept of an island within an island is also very luxurious and beautiful, and it’s just a really lovely place to live”…
He emphasized the feeling of peace, privacy, and indulgence that the property offered, praising not just the aesthetics but also the lifestyle.
“The feeling you get when you’re there is the important thing, and the views, and the food, and the kind of lifestyle, and the pace of living… these are a few of the things that led to my decision”.
A Peaceful Escape Post-Trauma
The purchase comes shortly after a traumatic incident earlier this year. On January 16, Saif was the victim of a violent knife attack during an attempted robbery at his Bandra residence. The attacker, identified as Shehzad, broke into Saif’s home and stabbed him, resulting in serious injuries including damage to his thoracic spine. The actor was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment. The incident shook fans and the industry alike.
This new property, offering tranquility and seclusion, seems to symbolize a fresh start for the actor.
“It felt like home away from home, so that made it very easy. The main thing really is that it’s peaceful and secluded if that’s the kind of thing you are looking for”, Saif noted.
He also expressed his excitement about bringing his children, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan, to their new holiday home.
A Global Property Portfolio
Saif Ali Khan, known for his refined taste, already owns several high-value properties. In Mumbai, he lives with wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their sons in a plush Bandra apartment. He also owns the iconic Pataudi Palace, a royal estate passed down through generations, and properties in London and Gstaad.
