New Delhi: Security measures have been significantly heightened across the national capital in preparation for the arrival of United States Vice President JD Vance and his family, officials confirmed. Vance is scheduled to land at the Palam Airbase at 10 a.m. on Monday for a four-day official visit to India.
Accompanying him on the visit are his wife Usha and their three children — Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel.
“We have already conducted mock drills in accordance with security protocols for this high-level visit. Security has been tightened across several areas of Delhi to ensure the visit proceeds without any untoward incidents,” a senior police officer said on Sunday.
To ensure smooth vehicular movement, the Delhi Traffic Police has put special arrangements in place throughout the city to facilitate the US Vice President’s travel.
During his stay in Delhi, Vance and his family are expected to visit the Swaminarayan Akshardham temple. They are also likely to stop by a shopping complex known for its selection of traditional Indian handcrafted goods, according to sources familiar with the itinerary.
