BCCI Unveils Annual Contracts: Rohit, Kohli Lead A+ Category

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Annual Player Contracts for Team India’s senior men’s squad for the 2024-25 season, spanning October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025. The contracts, revealed on Monday, categorize players based on their performance, experience, and contributions, underscoring the BCCI’s commitment to fostering talent and rewarding excellence.

Leading the elite A+ category are captain Rohit Sharma, batting maestro Virat Kohli, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. This top-tier group reflects the core of India’s cricketing prowess, with each player pivotal to the team’s recent successes across formats.

The A category includes a robust lineup of established stars: pacers Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami, wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul, rising star Shubman Gill, dynamic all-rounder Hardik Pandya, and the explosive Rishabh Pant. Their consistent performances in international and domestic circuits have cemented their spots in this high-caliber group.

In the B category, the BCCI recognized a blend of emerging and proven talents: T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, young batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal, and middle-order mainstay Shreyas Iyer. This group highlights India’s depth and the promising future of its cricketing roster.

The BCCI’s contract announcement comes as Team India prepares for a packed season, including key bilateral series and ICC events.
