Sikandar: Salman Khan’s High-Octane Action Thriller Unveils an Unforgiving Battle

The three-minute, 37-second trailer kicks off with a wanted poster of Sanjay Rajkot (Salman Khan), a man with 49 cases registered against him over the past five years.

Mumbai: Salman Khan is back, and as expected, he’s making waves with his latest action-packed venture. The highly anticipated trailer of Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and starring Salman Khan alongside Rashmika Mandanna, has finally dropped, promising a power-packed experience that delivers everything a true Bhai film should—and more.

The three-minute, 37-second trailer kicks off with a wanted poster of Sanjay Rajkot (Salman Khan), a man with 49 cases registered against him over the past five years. However, it soon becomes clear that he is no ordinary criminal—his actions stem from a deeper cause. “A hundred mistakes made with a good heart can be forgiven, but there is no apology for even a single mistake committed intentionally”, he declares, setting the tone for what lies ahead.

A Story of Power, Fate, and Redemption

Sikandar follows Sanjay Rajkot’s journey as he arrives in Mumbai, struggling at first before gradually reclaiming control of his muqaddar (fate). With themes of power, justice, and resilience, the film positions itself as a gripping political action thriller. The trailer features a dialogue that seems to mirror Salman Khan’s real-life journey: “Bahut neta jail gaye hain, abhineta bhi (Many leaders have gone to jail, even actors). Nobody is above the law.” His character further proclaims, “I have enough popularity that, if not as PM or CM, I could at least become an MLA or MP”, adding an intriguing layer to the narrative.

A Stellar Cast and Powerhouse Performances

While Salman Khan takes center stage as Sanjay Rajkot, Rashmika Mandanna plays Saisri, bringing her signature charm and intensity to the film. Sathyaraj portrays Minister Pradhan, adding another layer of political intrigue. Written by Murugadoss himself, Sikandar marks Salman’s much-awaited return in a lead role after a 16-month gap, following the release of Tiger 3 (2023), which fell short of box-office expectations. Though he appeared in Singham Again and Baby John in 2024, both were cameo roles.

Adding to the anticipation is Rashmika Mandanna’s presence, as she continues her winning streak following the blockbuster successes of Animal (2023), Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024), and Chhaava (2025).

Technical Brilliance and Musical Excellence

The film’s cinematography is helmed by acclaimed director of photography S. Thirunavukarasu, also known as Tirru, with editing by Vivek Harshan. Music maestro Pritam has composed the songs, with lyrics penned by Sameer, while the film’s gripping background score is crafted by renowned South Indian composer Santhosh Narayanan.

Release Date and Expectations

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner, Sikandar is set to hit theatres next Sunday, March 30. The release coincides with Eid-ul-Fitr, a festive season that has historically been lucky for Salman Khan’s films.

With a high-octane mix of action, drama, and socially charged storytelling, Sikandar promises to be more than just a film—it’s a spectacle waiting to unfold.
