“Starting in the evening, Russia attacked regions of Ukraine with over two hundred strike drones and decoy drones. Guided aerial bombs were also used”, Zelensky wrote, sharing a video of officials working to extinguish fires caused by the attacks.
In Odesa, the aftermath of the Russian airstrikes saw fires break out in a shopping mall and several stores, while a residential building also sustained damage. Zelensky further stated that three children had been injured in the Odesa region due to the attacks.
In Zaporizhzhia, six people were injured, including a 4-year-old child, due to the aerial bombings. Several homes and vehicles in the region were also damaged as a result of the strikes. Emergency services have been deployed to all affected regions, and support is being provided to the victims of these attacks.
“We expect real pressure on Russia from the United States, Europe, and all our partners. This is what will enable diplomacy to work”, Zelensky emphasized, calling for tougher sanctions and stronger defense support to prevent Russia from extending the duration of the war.
Zelensky’s call for more international support comes as the situation continues to escalate, with Ukraine requesting additional measures to strengthen its defense capabilities and counteract the ongoing aggression.
