Kyiv: A Russian missile struck a hotel in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih late Wednesday, killing two people and injuring 29, with many in critical condition, according to local officials.
Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the city’s military administration, reported on Telegram that 20 of the injured were in serious condition as emergency teams worked through the night to rescue those trapped under the debris.
Ukraine’s Emergency Services, also posting on Telegram, stated that 14 people had been pulled from the rubble of the heavily damaged hotel. Rescue workers navigated through piles of debris outside the five-story building, using ladders to reach upper floors. Photos from the scene showed smoke rising from the structure, with shattered windows and a crane deployed to assist in recovery efforts.
